Bell Ringer:
Do you know the difference between a fact and an opinion? (Type 1) List 3 facts and 3 opinions. You have 4 minutes....list more than 3 if time has not expired nd you completed the 3 of each. This should be completed in your Type 1/Comp/Writing notebook

Task 1: How do I pick a topic? How do I create keywords? Where do I start my presearch?
Go to Stirring Up Justice page (you can get there from side bar or from home page).
Then Click on "Stirring Up Justice: One Step at a Time"
On this page you will see a link for a list. This list contains topics by categories for you to consider as a topic.
Once you have selected 3 topics of interest, you should come up with 3-5 key words you can use for each topic. (This is explained on the "Stirring Up Justice: One Step at a Time" page). We spent the rest of the class period going over the topics.

Closure:
How do you go about picking a topic? How do you create key words?
We will talk about presearch on Friday?

Task 1: Review steps in leading to presearch
Task 2:
Students access note sheet on wiki - Go to Stirring Up Justice page (you can get there from side bar or from home page).
Then Click on "Stirring Up Justice: One Step at a Time" - note sheet posted here. Students are to take one of their three selected topics and find two sources about it
(book and database). Then they are to find three pieces of info on that topic from each source. They also need to record bibliography for the source. Once they compete
sheet one, they are to continue with topic two.
Task 3: After reviewing procedure above, Mrs, Arnold talked to them about keywords and how important it is to persevere - don't give up after one failed search. She showed the
